Kristin Meyer - Director / Certified Montessori Teacher

Kristin Meyer has been the administrator/owner of the Marshfield Children's House since opening it in 2007. Along with her Montessori Degree she also has a degree in Funeral Service and has served local families for 20 years. Her inspiration for opening the school came from her sister who also has a Montessori degree. Kristin has three children: Cale, 18, Annie, 14 and Lauren 9.

Woo Hee (Linda) Lee- Certified Montessori Teacher

Linda was born in Korea and moved to the US in 1979. She is a mother of three children; two in college and one in high school. Linda speaks three languages including Korean, Japanese and English. Linda received her Montessori certification in 1992 and she began her internship in Racine, WI. Linda later went to Indiana and Maryland to teach Montessori and now has been teaching here since March, 2008. Linda also worked as a missionary for three years.

Jean Lukens - Montessori Teacher

Jean Lukens joined the MCHM Staff in the Fall of 2010. She was born in Stevens Point and was a Spencer High School graduate. Jean attended college and worked in Marshfield and finished her education at U-W Whitewater, graduating with a BA in Art History and a minor in Studio Art. Jean's Montessori experience began when she worked as an aide at the Montessori School in St. Louis Park called Discovery for Children. Jean married and moved to California where she worked at the Montessori school in Aptos , CA . She then completed her AMS degree at the Twin Cities Montessori Center and returned to the Santa Cruz Montessori School to complete her student teaching. In 1985, Jean and her business partner Barbara established Fawnhaven Montessori Pre-School and taught there until 1994. During this time Jean found her love of watercolor painting. For the next 10 years Jean explored her talents as an artist. In 2008, Jean returned to Wisconsin and found Marshfield Children's House of Montessori. She is very excited to teaching again….P.S. She's still painting!

Susan M. Volenec - Montessori Teacher

Susan and her husband, Bob, were married in 1976. Her first career was teaching, but when they moved to the Loyal area to farm, she remained involved in education through substitute teaching and hosting field trips to the farm. For 16 years, Susan had a group of Montessori students from the Chicago area stay at their farm for a week during the fall. The children were 12-14 years old and they helped do all the farm chores. The older students also had the opportunity to do work at neighboring farms. Her son Matt attended Montessori school from the ages of one to nine. He graduated from Marshfield High School and from Gustavus Adolphus College. He and his wife, Becky and their 3 children are currently living in Sun Prairie. Matt is a biologist for the USDA. And her daughter Laurel also attended Montessori school. She graduated from Loyal High School and St. Catherine University. Laurel is a respiratory therapist at St. Joseph Hospital. She lives in Marshfield with her husband, Nick, and their 5 mo. old son. Susan is an avid gardener and has taken the Master Gardening training program.

Bethany Behrens - Assistant Teacher

Bethany Behrens joined the staff of MCHM in the Fall of 2010. She graduated from Loyal High School and lived in Phillips , WI for a year prior to her move back to the area. Bethany enjoys reading, walking, music and camping. Bethany would like to pursue a degree in education. We welcome Bethany to MCHM as an assistant teacher. She looks forward to the coming school year at MCHM!

Donna Behrens - Summer Camp Director

Donna Behrens joined the staff of MCHM during the Summer of 2010 as our Summer Camp Teacher. Donna has been employed by the Loyal School District for ten years as an assistant in the 4 year-old Kindergarten room. Prior to working at school she was a certified, in-home child care provider and also worked as a parent educator for Children's Service Society. She has a great passion for working with young children. Donna lives in Loyal with her three daughters, Bethany, age 20, Courtney, age 15 and Tiffany, age 13. In her spare time Donna enjoys scrapbooking, stamping, camping and watching her children play sports.

Sue Hedler - Music Instructor and Piano Teacher

Sue Hedler is the music instructor and the piano teacher at Marshfield Montessori. She grew up in Thorp, WI. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. She has been teaching private piano, voice, and guitar lessons since 1994. She also worked at the Clark County Health Care Center with elderly people and people with developmental disabilities for 15 years. She began teaching piano lessons at the Montessori School in May of 2010.

Lindsey Bauer - Assistant Teacher

Lindsey Bauer joined the staff of MCHm in January of 2011. She is an assistant teacher in the Montessori classroom. Currently Lindsey is a Senior at Loyal High School and assists in the 4-year old kindergarten room at Loyal Elementary. After graduating from LHS this Spring she plans to attend NTC in Spencer for Early Childhood Education. We welcome Lindsey to our staff!
